Payment and Insurance

Because billing costs such as staff time, paperwork and postage affect fees, we request payment or appropriate co-payment at the time of your visit.

The therapists in our network accept a wide variety of insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare, but it is often not in your best interests to use your insurance for mental health issues. A mental illness diagnosis can affect your future if you are self-employed and will need to change policies, want to purchase an independent life insurance policy or have need of a security clearance. Each of these situations requires a disclosure and a resulting request for your counseling records. If your policy is a traditional HMO, medical information must be submitted for authorization of additional sessions.

For an issue to be covered under insurance, it must be medically necessary. Most insurance do not consider marriage counseling, relationship issues, behavioral issues or other life issues such as career change, divorce or work issues medically necessary unless these issues are accompanied by anxiety or depression. Your therapist will let you know if treatment is medically necessary and therefore billable to your insurance.

Based upon financial necessity, a sliding scale is available for personal pay clients.

We accept cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard for payment.
